How do I install the Photoshop plug-in files manually?

For Windows please use the Photoshop Plugin Installer and this should install the plugin correctly. If you still have any problems then please read on for the manual copying instructions.

The 64-bit Windows plugin is called PSFilterPPLauncher64.8bf and you can find it in the PortraitProfessional folder:

  • C:\Program Files(x86)\Portrait Pro Studio 17 - on 64-bit machines
  • C:\Program Files\Portrait Pro Studio Max 17 - if you have Studio Max installed

Copy this file (PSFilterPPLauncher64.8bf) to your 64-bit Photoshop Plug-ins folder. This can be found at:

  • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CSx (64 Bit)\Plug-ins - on 64 bit machines

The 32-bit Windows plugin is called PSFilterPPLauncher.8bf and you can find it in the PortraitPro folder:

  • C:\Program Files(x86)\PortraitPro Studio 17 - on 64-bit machines
  • C:\Program Files\PortraitPro Studio 17 - on 32-bit machines
  • C:\Program Files\PortraitPro Studio Max 17 - if you have Studio Max installed

Copy this file (PSFilterPPLauncher.8bf) to your 32-bit Photoshop Plug-ins folder. This can be found at:

  • C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CSx\Plug-ins - on 64 bit machines
  • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CSx\Plug-ins - on 32 bit machined and machines running Windows XP


The Mac Plugin file is called PSFilterPPLauncher.plugin.
You can find it by going to /Applications/PortraitProStudio or /Applications/PortraitProStudioMax. right-clicking and selecting 'Show Package Contents'. In the new window that appears, go to Contents->MacOS, and you will find the plugin bundle there.

To install it into Photoshop, copy the plugin bundle to your Photoshop Plug-ins folder. You can usually find this at:
/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CSx/Plug-ins.
