Portrait editing software can help improve any type of portrait, even a baby's first portrait session. When photographing babies for a portrait shoot, you will want to make sure that the baby is as comfortable and supported as possible. You will need to be able to keep toddlers and young children entertained enough to sit in the same position for a while, and hold their focus on the camera. It can be really useful to have the parents bring in their favorite toys for the shoot. They can be used as props in your pictures, and also to hold their attention in the direction that you want for the photograph.

It's particularly important not to dazzle your subject with your lighting set up, when they are very young. Use a soft lighting set up with plenty of reflectors to ensure there is no direct shine on their eyes. It will help ensure that the parents continue to use you for future portrait photography sessions, if they remember that their baby was comfortable in your studio.

You will need to do very little photo retouching with very young children. However, babies often suffer from mild skin conditions such as eczema, prickly heat rash or cradle cap. Portrait Professional can be used to smooth out the skin if the rashes are particularly bad. You won't want to use the face sculpting tools on a baby's portrait, but the portrait editing software can still be used to improve the condition of the skin if there are particularly noticeable blemishes.
