Davie,
If you have the original token, I believe all you need to do is install the new version and apply that token. I may be wrong, but that wouldn't be the first time.

RE: SFE Uninstaller
I purchased a token for the full version of SFE and before I installed it I tried to uninstall the Trial version, the uninstall didn't work !
I tried with the Windows Add/Remove and with two 3rd party uninstallers - Your Uninstaller Pro and Perfect Uninstaller and none of them would work properly. I had to use the PEUninstallerUi.exe from the parent directory and even that didn't work 100%. It required some manual registry editing to remove it completely !!

Salisbury,
I do not think you need to remove the trial version. But I could be wrong. I have a PC running XP and did not have to do it with the newest version that was released this week.

RE: SFE
Hi Salisbury,

We're deeply regretful that you're experiencing these issues, myself especially, as I tested the functionality of SPE. Did the uninstaller simply do nothing at all when it ran or did it run and fail? I just double checked the trial uninstaller on a Vista64 machine and could not reproduce the issue. If you have any more information on how this occurred, we'd greatly appreciate it so that the issue can be rectified and prevented from affecting any other users.

Once again, it's deeply unfortunate that this occurred and I can assure you that I personally tried to recreate the issue and could not recreate it. I will continue on and try and recreate the problem so that we can observe the cause and provide a fix for it.

EDIT: The trial uninstaller was also tested on a Win7 64 machine and I was unable to reproduce the issue on that machine as well. Further testing is underway.

I have no further information other than what I've already supplied.
The full, activated version is working fine and all remnants of the Trial have gone from the parent directory and the registry so I'm at a loss to know why the uninstallation didn't work properly.
Don't sweat it Arjun ............ I've long since stopped losing sleep over recalcitrant software Big GrinBig Grin
